Barbara Kremer, Paul Osborne & Catherine Davis

Vibrance
September 30 – October 6
Watercolor & Photography
Reception: Friday, October 1, 7 – 9pm

Barbara Kremer, a watercolorist specializing in landscapes and nature photographers, Paul Osborne and Catherine Davis, team up for a combined featured artists exhibition. They work in different media but share a passion for color and the interplay of light and shadow.

Barbara paints year-round but is a three-season plein air painter, "The challenge of painting en plein air is both creatively and emotionally inspiring and allows me to enter a zone where I become totally immersed in nature, the environment, and my painting." Her watercolors are bold and vibrant with a strong sense of light and dark. She credits award-winning artist and teacher, Tom Sutherland, with helping her become "free". This freedom translates into a feeling of spontaneity and lightness in her work.

Paul Osborne and Catherine Davis work collaboratively to capture the power and beauty of wild places and the extravagant color, structure, and texture in nature. “We believe there is an innate human connection to the natural world and we invite the viewer to join us in exploring this connection through our photographs.” Their new series of Still Life photographs, inspired by Dutch Renaissance painters and the Spanish painter Luis Melendez, showcase the earth’s voluptuous bounty. They celebrate the home and the beauty and importance of commonplace foods that are grown, not manufactured. Osborne and Davis work in both film and digital media in natural light. Their work can be seen on their website: www.osbornedavisphoto.com.

Join the artists for an Evening Reception, Friday October 1, 7 to 9 PM.
