Comments by judges on works that won awards at the NAA: John Stomberg, Chief Curator, Williams College Museum of Art, "A well observed and executed work demonstrating both skill and attention to detail." Jim Zingarelli, Art Dep’t Chair, Gordon College, "I am taken by the great care of the sculptor’s hands that are tracked across the entire work."
After serving in the infantry in WWII, Moskowitz taught Industrial Arts in the junior high schools in New York City for thirty years. He began to sculpt after leaving teaching and attended sculpture classes at the New York Academy of Art, the Parsons School of Design and at the State University of New York at Purchase.
He was one of the founders of the Alliance of Queens Artists and served on the Board of Directors for several years until he moved to Newburyport in 1990. He also started and ran a sculpture workshop at the NAA for thirteen years. He was honored in 2005 by the NAA as a lifetime member.
