Still Water, Lamprey River
Local photographer Godfrey (Jeff) Sluder is the featured artist at the Laura Coombs Hill Gallery of the Newburyport Art Association. The exhibition, Views from the Water’s Edge, runs from March 11 to March 17. His exhibition of digital archival prints depicts landscapes of rivers and shorelines from Nova Scotia to Florida. The gallery is located at 65 Water Street, Newburyport, MA.
The common thread throughout the show is water. Sometimes water is the focus of the image; sometimes it simply enhances the image. “Each photograph captures a moment in time when light, form, color and pattern converge to create a magical image. I did my best to capture that moment with my camera lens. Hopefully, these images will inspire the viewer to appreciate the beauty in the world around us.”
Jeff is a member of the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists and the Newburyport Art Association as well as contributing photographer to the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. He maintains a website at www.sluderphotography.com.
Jeff’s work is based on revealing the infinite variety of patterns in nature. “When I am out on a shoot, I often get so focused on the interplay of light, color, pattern, and space in nature that I lose my sense of self. I come back refreshed and inspired by the unlimited beauty that is out there just waiting to be noticed. I hope that my photographs in turn will inspire the viewer to see and appreciate the world around us.”
