She has been a visiting critic, panelist, and juror for many organizations. Previously Lafo was a curator at the Portland Art Museum, Portland, Oregon, and an administrator at the Center for Conservation and Technical Studies at Harvard University. She has taught courses in Museum Studies at Tufts University and Boston University.

Juror’s Comments:
It was a great pleasure to see the diversity of artwork submitted for this exhibition. Although most of the work is representational landscapes, still life and figure studies-there was a great deal of variety within those genres.

I looked for technical excellence, innovative approaches to subject matter and medium, and an independent sense of vision. It was refreshing to find so manyartworks that made me come back to them again and again.
