The Newburyport Art Association hosts their 9th Annual Regional Juried Show from May 25th through June 17th. The media includes Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, Water-based media, and Mixed Media. This is the largest show of the year for the NAA and includes non-members as well.

Juror: The juror is Catherine French, The Director of the Danforth Museum of art in Framingham, MA.  She was recently honored by the New England Chapter of the International Art Critics for Curatorial Excellence.

Juror's overall comments on the show:
“Recent entries to the 2007 Regional Juried Show sponsored by the Newburyport Art association proved that a long standing tradition continues.  The arts community on the North Shore is thriving, and large numbers of artists are producing work in a wide variety of media.  What is remarkable is the sense of narrative that runs through so many of the works, as well as the direct response to place.  Whether a landscape, or an invented scene, these works speak to our experience.  They describe what makes us aware of our surroundings- and helps make sense of the world”.
