'RECENT WORKS' by Nancy Oleson, Debra Corbett and Ellen Rolli

Local Artist and Hyperbole Gallery owner Nancy Oleson together with friends and fellow painters Debra Corbett and Ellen Rolli will be the featured artists. The collaborative exhibit will showcase recent works by the three women including both landscape and still paintings.

Debra Corbett studied Fine Art at Seton Hall University, and has participated in workdshops at the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA and at the Hudson River Valley Workshops in New York. She studied with accomplished artists Dale Ratcliff, Ed Carson, Charles Sovek and Don Stone. Her paintings, as noted by one juror in a recent exhibition, "
are all about the experience of being a painter, of being captivated by light, and not saying "no" to that obsession." Debra has been the recipient of three Massachusetts Arts Lottery Awards, and her work is represented in many private collections. She is a member of the Newburyport Art Association, and maintains an active home studio. |

Elaine Rolli is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art. She has had a wide ranging career as a graphic artist, art director and art educator. At present she divides her time between location and studio painting. Ellen enjoys landscape and still life painting. She has studied and taken workshops with professional painters Charles Sovek, Don Stone, Dale Ratcliff, Roz Farbush and Ed Carson. In October of 2000, her first solo exhibition, "Two Weeks in Provence", showcased 25 paintings from a recent trip to France. Ellen is an artist-member of the Newburyport Art Association and the North Shore Art Association of Gloucester. Her paintings hang in many private collections. |

Nancy Philo Olesons paintings are in private collections throughout the country. Solo shows honoring her work have been held in prominent exhibits in Massachusetts, including the Vertu Gallery, the Sam Sargent Gallery, Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, and the Shawmut Bank of Boston. Nancy has painted for over twenty years and has exhibited oil paintings and watercolors in Michigan, where she was raised, and in the greater Boston area. She is a designer and illustrator, with "Newburyport Tales", a delightful childrens book, available at book and gift shops in the Newburyport area. She has been artist in residence at various local schools, and participates in the Newburyport Wet Paint Auction. She is a member of the Newburyport Art Association, and offers classes in her Newburyport gallery, Hyperbole. |
