"Black and White and Infrared All Over,"
Reception: Saturday, November 11, 7-9pm

Mr. Curriers first professional photographs were taken in the early 60s as a young photojournalist with United Press International. Over the next 30 plus years he continually experimented with different film and negative sizes to expand the possible images that could be created from a single negative.
In the late 60s he began photographing subject matter that covered numerous interrelated urban social issues with a focus on documenting how municipal services address broad social concerns. He continues to this day to be very involved in documenting major civic and social issues.
In 1999 Mr. Currier had an exhibition in Newburyport of his collection of black and white photographs taken during the early 70s in Newburyport prior to its downtown redevelopment. This series of photographs received critical acclaim for their quality and documentation of Newburyports history at a critical time, preserving it for generations to
come.
In July 2000 Mr. Currier had an exhibition of his limited edition photographs of Tuscany, Italy at Café di Siena in Newburyport. These photographs were primarily infrared, medium format. Mr. Currier has exhibited his work in several juried shows at the Newburyport Art Association.
Mr. Currier specializes in medium format infrared and black and white photography. For archival purposes, all his work is hand toned with Selenium, most on Forte warm tone paper and archivally matted and framed.
