"Everything is made of Light"
The places we go, the people we encounter, the symbols we observe are all touched by light. Photography whether produced digitally or traditionally -- is created by light. "Everything is made of light
"as the poet Charles Simic writes
"even the dark night." And the light is changed by the seasons, the geographical location, and the mood we wish to convey. The quality of light darkens or brightens our feelings. This exhibit chooses to show the many faces of light to help us observe our world with more understanding. All of the images are printed to archival standards and will outlive most of us.
Patricia Bashfords oeuvre takes us to other parts of our world where light defines, shapes, and intrigues our sensibilities. Her personal visions explore and document unique aspects of spiritual and mysterious cultures. Her website is www.travelswithpat.com.
Lydia Widmer creates fine-art images from her original photographs. She finds joy in the freedom of expression and exploration that is intrinsic to the creative process. Her artistic motivation is best reflected in the proverb
"A bird does not sing because she has an answer, she sings because she has a song."
