Karen Harer Leonard

This is my first show. I love working with my hands, and creating artworks that are pleasing to the eye, things that are meant to be lived with for a long time. I've explored all sorts of media, both two and three dimensional, and have yet to find one medium that can do everything I'd like to do. I love working with gradients and the pure shapes created with a computer, delighting in its infinite maneuverability. I love the tactile pleasures of working with fabrics, or playing with colored paper and the ordinary detritus of life. I create whimsical beasts from clay and play with watercolors. I hope that my admiration of the natural world and organic form comes through. If I've captured the right moment, and made the viewer look at something with a fresh eye, I've succeeded.

Judy J. Brenner

Judy J. Brenner received her B.A. from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, New Hampshire in 1995. She has taken workshops in bookmaking from Blair Folts and oil painting workshops from Eric Aho. She has participated in numerous juried shows featuring her oil paintings and etchings as well as her hand made books. Judy creates floral arrangements for openings of the Art Gallery at the University of New Hampshire.

"Being brought up on a farm in New England ---the expansive skies, the open spaces, the fields, the woods, all once my playground, now feed my soul. My work: etchings, oil paintings is a metaphor for the serenity, peace, and quiet that I am searching for."
