Watercolorist Anne Recchia will have a show of her work spanning the last three years of various artistic experiences. During this time, she has spent many hours painting "en plein air" with several artist friends who introduced her to the pleasures of Newburyport, Plum Island and the NAA. She has also spent some time painting the landscapes of Cape Cod.
Last May, she spent a month in the town of Dinan in Bretagne, France as an artist in residence. She was chosen to participate in this program after submitting slides and a letter of intent to a municipal committee, "Les Amis de la Grande Vigne". This group represents a cultural program started by a French artist. Selected artists spend a month living and painting in and around the medieval town of Dinan. At the end of the stay, a painting is chosen for the town museum. As a former French teacher, this artist was extremely happy to be selected!
Anne Recchia's artistic credentials include many years of painting and study and memberships in several professional organisations including the Concord Art Assoc. and the North Shore Arts Assoc. She has also been a member of the Depot Square Gallery in Lexington, MA.
