Joan Rademacher & Ann Albert
Hills Gallery
Media: Oil & Watercolor
Reception: Friday, May 5

Ann Albert of North Andover, Massachusetts, is a professional artist who paints scenes of New England in watercolors and oils.  Spending her summers in Maine, Ann has learned to appreciate the beauty of New England, this shows in her work.  The Atlantic coastline appears often in her work.  Ann has always been inspired by the majesty of the ocean.  The rocky coast has provided many scenes for her artwork.

Ann also enjoys painting floral and still-lifes, gathering her images from local gardens. She serves as a judge ands gives painting demonstrations to art groups. Her paintings are in private collections in the United States and Canada.

Ann Albert is also represented by the Argosy Gallery, Bar Harbor, Maine,

A graduate of the Art Institute of Boston, Joan Rademacher pursued a career in commercial art before developing an interest in watercolor.  That interest led to workshops with notable artists, Betty Lou Schlemm, Don Andrews, and Ferdinand Petrie, and both national and local awards.  “This medium, watercolor, when applied loosely and with distinct brush strokes can be a maverick.  It often leads you through your painting but always with excitement and wonder.”

Joan is a member of the New England Watercolor Society, the North Shore Art Association, Concord Art Association, as well as Newburyport, Andover and Haverhill Art Associations.  She is in private collections in the United States and abroad.  Her work is in many corporate collections including BankNorth and Georgetown Bank.

Rockport Publisher’s, “Best of Watercolor series; PAINTING LIGHT AND SHADOW” features her painting “Burst of Spring.”

Joan teaches a watercolor class, sponsored by the Haverhill Art Association, at the First Church, Bradford, MA on the second and fourth Saturday of the month.
