Sharleene Hurst grew up in Northampton, Massachusetts and lives in Hampton, New Hampshire. She turned to art at an early age as an escape from her life-long struggles with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Autism and Dyslexia.

In the 1980’s she became the first person in her family to go to college, where she achieved a 3.0 grade point average. She worked for a large corporation and held several local elective offices.  In the 1990’s, she served three terms in the NH State Legislature and began showing her artwork.  Sharleene now works on her artwork full time.  She and her husband Lee recently celebrated their 20^th wedding anniversary.  She is 47 years old.

Sharleene Hurst’s artwork is a unique, whimsical blend of surrealism and abstract forms.  She enjoys experimenting with color, texture, light, shape and technique.  Every piece is an original.
