Photographers Sandra Lange and Jane Sydney will present Perspectives by Two at the Hills Gallery, Newburyport Art Association, Newburyport MA, September 28 to October 4 with a reception on Friday, September 29 from 7 -9 P.M.

Lange is an award winning photographer who has been exhibiting her photographs in the Portsmouth area for 5 years. Her black and white photographs are of the local coastal region including the Isles of Shoals. In a critiquing show her images were described by the juror as professional and beautiful traditional black and white prints: the photographs were well composed with wonderful tonal quality and masterful control of media. Lange describes her images as simple and direct, reflecting life around us ˆ as it is ˆ not redesigned, altered, or recreated.

In the Mix of Color is artist Jane Sydney's latest collection of photographs in which she uses color and light to create images which are rich in texture and depth. Her subjects in this show range from the abstract undulations of desert dunes to the concrete reality of decaying urban landscapes. The linear lines and graphic style of her photographs add a fresh dimension to her subject matter. These color photographs allow the viewer to share the time and space portrayed by the images, and to perhaps see something new and different in the ordinary.
