THE SIXTH ANNUAL "PLEIN AIR PLUS" ART EXHIBITION & SALE
The Sixth Annual "Plein Air Plus" Exhibit and Sale takes place at the Newburyport Art Association from July 20 - August 2, 2006. Featured will be new paintings by the "Newburyport Ten", a group of artists that meet regularly to paint in the Newburyport and North Shore area. "Plein Air" is a term used to describe painting from life outdoors.
The goal is to absorb it all, the sights, sounds, temperature and atmosphere of a place and interpret that impression in paint.
The artists in the "Newburyport Ten" are J.C. Airoldi, Cynthia Cooper, Bob Gertz, Joan Hancock, Marjet Lesk, Daniel J. Shaw, Susan Spellman, Janet Sutherland, Susan Stranc, and Jacob Towle.
The opening reception is on July 22, from 7-9 pm. Gallery hours are from 11-5 Monday through Saturday and 12 - 5 on Sunday (please call the N.A.A. 978 465-8769 for special extended evening hours). The Newburyport Art Association is located at 65 Water Street, Newburyport, MA.
