Margette Leanna will be showing her acrylic paintings featuring the many places that strike her fancy, especially marshes and pine trees, in Newburyport and Maine.
The showing of these works will be in the Laura Combs Hills Gallery at the Newburyport Art Association 65 Water Street, Newburyport April 26 through May 2.
The Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and Sunday’s hours starting at 12 to 5p.m. A reception with the artist will be Friday evening 7 to 9 p.m. The artist will be at the Gallery through the week to compare notes on all those places to paint.
Margette was raised in Iowa, received her BFA from Kansas University, and has lived in Newburyport for 30 years. She shows her work in the many shows at NAA which she has been a member for 30 years. She has received many awards every year through the more than ten outdoor shows each summer in Massachsetts and Maine and the NAA.
“Oh, the Places She’ll Paint!” The show will conincide with the Newburyport Literary Festival weekend.
