Seductions
The beauty and power of the natural world is strong. It is evident on a large scale in the wilderness, but also on a smaller scale close to home in the plants and flowers of our gardens. We photograph both. Our botanical portraits of leaves, flowers and fruit, focus on texture, color and structure. The lush blossoms that attract the bees, attract us as well; we humans have bred them for our pleasure. The raw beauty of the wilderness seduces in a different way. The pull of a world outside the human sphere, one with complex interrelationships and forces beyond our control, is awe-inspiring. We are seduced.
We work collaboratively using 35 mm color film. Our nature photographs range from intimate portraits to panoramic vistas. Our color prints have won awards including National Photo Awards in 2004, 2005 & 2006. We have also received 2007 and 2008 photography awards from the Newburyport Art Association.
