Pastel Workshop with Karen Jones
Sunday, June 24, 1-4pm
The starting point of this 3 hour workshop will be a demonstration Karen will offer in pastels using her own works. The students will then work from Karen's pastel (teaching/learning purposes only). Karen will talk about the techniques that she uses as she is working. Karen's primary interest is in color and in the use of darks and lights to achieve dramatic effects.

Art Portfolio Coaching for High School Juniors and Seniors

This series of seminars has been designed with the high school art student in mind, espeically for those who are making plans to apply to art colleges and university programs and starting to think about their portfolio. The series will culminate in the fourth meeting with a group critique led by visitors from art college and university programs in the region who will guide students through a portfolio presentation in a group setting. Visions of the French Modern Masters Workshop with John Maciejowski
Saturday, August 11, 10-4pm
The great French Painters of the Modern Age have certainly created new ideas that we can incorporate into our own way of seeing. We will look at specific techniques of such modern masters as Dufy, Derain, and Matisse. There will be presentations of specific techniques, time to experiment, and a positive group critique.
French wine & cheese will be served during the critique.
