NAA Community Outreach
The NAA is an important artist-to-community link and it supports two significant art based outreach programs:
ArtLink — An ongoing art enrichment program in
cooperation with local school systems, ArtLink promotes the visual arts through exhibitions for children grades 1-12, artist mentoring, after-school classes, class and college scholarships, art supplies, and career information events.
OpArt — A collaboration with the Newburyport Opportunity Works, OpArt provides individuals with disabilities hands-on art instruction using different media, techniques and materials, and the chance to realize their life’s ambitions through the creative process related to the visual arts.
Budding Artists — Each year our ArtLink program sponsors two youth artist shows. These shows are coordinated with art programs in area schools. Youth programs also include portfolio reviews and scholarships.
Interest Groups — The NAA provides a meeting place for artists interested in meeting with other artists. A total of seven interest groups meet at the NAA and show their work in our galleries.
Wings Exhibition Series – In addition, the NAA sponsors NAA artists exhibiting their work at local businesses.
