andrew anderson-bell paintingAndrew Anderson-Bell earned his BFA from Colby College, Waterville, ME as well as a BFA and BGD from Rhode Island School of Design. Andrew is a practicing professional artist whose gallery exhibitions include Churchill Gallery, Newburyport, River Gallery, Ipswich, Caggiano Gallery, Rockport, Mast Cove Gallery, Kennebunkport and Lowell Street Gallery, Cambridge.

Gail Boucher studied at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts where she refined her technique of gyotaku, (Japanese Printmaking). Gail is the Sea Captain and owner of Atlantis Charter Art Cruises in Newburyport with 25 years experience fishing the Merrimac River and offshore waters.

alan bull portraitAlan Bull studied at the Philadelphia College of Art and worked as a muralist, theatrical set painter, portrait artist and studio assistant to glass artist Dan Dailey. He was the "artist in residence" at the William Steeple Davis House, NY. Exhibitions have included shows in New York, London, Boston and Portland, Maine. Alan's art has been featured in alan bull paintingpublications such as Architectural Digest; House Beautiful and the New York Times. He has taught painting and drawing workshops throughout the East End of Long Island and the North Shore of Massachusetts.

Sara Elizabeth Connor is a graduate of Simmons College where she studied English and Studio Art with a concentration in Photography. She is a licensed Visual Art Instructor and currently a Graduate student at Massachusetts College of Art and Design working on her Masters in Art Education. She is an active member of the Newburyport Art Association and an Art Instructor specializing in Alternative Processes of Photography.

marilyn coon sculptureMarilyn Coon began her career as a HS Art teacher, and went on to freelance design and editor of a small weekly newspaper in So. NH. She is at present a working artist and a small business owner. She works at her home studio, Wildmarsh Studio in Kingston, NH. She is a member of NAA in MA. and NHAA in NH, Audubon Artist's Assoc. NY, New England Sculptor's Assoc., and National Sculptor's Association. Marilyn teaches life sculpture at Newburyport Art Assoc. She has also taught at Taos, NM Clayworks. Marilyn has attended several sculpture workshops with well known sculptors at Scottsdale Art School in Scottsdale AZ and Brookgreen Gardens workshops in Merril's Inlet, South Carolina and Sanctuary Arts in Elliot Maine. Her work has won many awards and has been in galleries from Provincetown, MA to Rye, NH and is in many private collections.

Susan Kapuscinski Gaylord is the author of Handmade Books for a Healthy Planet: Sixteen Earth-Friendly Projects From Around The World. She is the founder of makingbooks.com which instructs and inspires through web content and youtube tutorials. As an artist, she has exhibited her one of a kind and limited edition books nationally and internationally. They have been featured in several books including 500 Handmade Books, Cover to Cover, and Handmade Books and Cards.

Susan Hebenstreit has over 2 decades of experience in the Arts. Stained Glass, Watercolor, Murals, Oil and Pastels. Her work is in private collections across the country. One of the founding members of a plein aire group called “Women in the Wild”, Fine Art of the Great Outdoors. Participated in many juried shows and was juried into the Guild of Boston Artists on Newbury St., Boston.

christine molitor johnson paintingChristine Molitor Johnson received a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and a M. Ed. in Creative Arts from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She taught first grade at the Kelley School for 28 years and more recently at the Bresnahan School. She began her study of in the fall of 1994. Christine works in oils and enjoys capturing the nuances of nature and the luminosity of the landscapes, water, and skies that surround her. Her gallery shows have included several solo and group exhibits. She has been a featured solo artist at Governors Academy. Her paintings can be found in private collections on the North and South Shore, Maine, Boston, Cape Cod, Rye, NH, Washington D. C., Philadelphia, Florida, and Ireland.

Donald Jurney was born in Rye, New York, in 1945, and was educated at Columbia University, the Pratt Institute, and the Art Students League. Mr. Jurney’s art is included in a number of private and corporate collections and nationally in museum collections including the Hudson River Museum, New York, the Oakland Museum of Art, California, and the Museum of the City of New York.

kid's classBeverly Mitchell, a 1980 graduate of Montserrat School of Visual Arts, is a working painter and art teacher. Beverly’s art has been exhibited in a variety of galleries including Ferry Wharf, Diamond-Newman Associates, Ashwell Gallery, Brush With History Gallery and Gallery 40. Beverly Mitchell is an avid gardener who draws on her experience beverly mitchell paintingto create vivid works of art in watercolor, acrylic and oil paint. Her work is in a variety of public and private collections. Beverly is a member of the Copley Society and was recently awarded the prestigious title of Copley Artist. This year the NAA recognized Beverly’s contribution to children’s art by honoring her with an award in her name for the budding artists shows.

John Raleigh is a commercial photographer and digital imaging specialist. John won best of show in the annual photography exhibit at the Walt Kuhn Gallery, Cape Neddick, ME. The land- scape, in the great American photographic tradition is John's favorite subject. He has produced portfolios of work from Antarctica, Italy, Japan, Nova Scotia, and locally.

Susan Sanford earned her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and continued with graduate studies at San Francisco Art Institute. Sanford was awarded a fellowship at Skidmore. She was an art educator at Masconomet Regional High School for 25 year. An avid oil painter Susan studied with NAA faculty Kevin Shea and continues to enjoy her studies in oils with Julie Airoldi. She is our newest NAA faculty member teaching mixed media.

kevin shea in tuscanyKevin Shea brings a wealth of knowledge to his work and instruction with over 20 years experience painting outdoors as a full-time professional artists. Shea is a member of the Copley Society, and his work has been displayed nationally with the American Artists Professional League and the Salmagundi Club. He has lived and taught in Florence and has traveled and painted extensively in the Tuscany region. He has been featured in numerous publications and on CNN, and displays his work with 6 galleries.

Susan Spellman started her career working for Educational Directions Inc., as a staff illustrator. There she illustrated entire filmstrips of fairy tales and folklore. After three years, she began freelancing and has been working in that capacity for almost 30 years. She has had the pleasure of illustrating a wide range of topics from serious anatomical studies for science books, to a more whimsical style for children’s books.

eva timothy photoEva Timothy has been capturing the “Light in Life” through her buoyant personality and her unique perspective in photography over the course of her life. She is a Media / Communications graduate with a B.A. from the University of Utah and a member of the Newburyport Art Association. She studied at the Oxford School of Photography and holds a Licentiate Certification from the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. Eva has received numerous accolades for her work including Best in Show in the 2005 UK CACC slide competition and the Portsmouth Herald Photographer of the Year in 2007. Her images have been spot- lighted in such prestigious publications as the Boston Globe, The Oxford Times and Serbin’s Best of Photography Annual. Eva’s work can be found at a number of standing exhibitions, galleries and museums in the U.S. and the U.K.
